A football fan died because of the ban on visiting matches

Iranian football fan Sugar Hodari died by suicide at the courthouse. About it reports “Interfax”.

According to the publication, 30-year-old Hodari protested against the possible imprisonment to go to a football match. The woman died in the hospital, where he was taken with 90 percent burns on the body.

The international football Federation (FIFA) has expressed condolences in connection with death of the cheerleaders. The leadership of the organization called on the Iranian authorities to ensure freedom and security for all women.

In March this year, Hodari appeared on match of the Asian League of Champions between local club “Esteglal”, for which she was ill, and the team “al-ain” from UAE. Women in Iran are prohibited from attending football matches involving men’s teams since 1981, so that the Iranian was arrested, and she faces up to two years in prison.
