SAINT PETERSBURG, September 11. /TASS/. Three-time Stanley Cup winner, two-time Olympic champion Igor Larionov, appointed to the post of adviser to the head of staff of Russian national team on hockey Roman Rotenberg, has tremendous experience, he should benefit. This opinion was expressed to journalists two-time Olympic champion and three-time Stanley Cup winner, the Deputy of the state Duma Vyacheslav Fetisov.

On the appointment Larionova assistant to the head of staff of Russian national team it was announced on September 10. In the scope of his duties, in particular, will work with teams from Russia, of all ages, as well as implementation and continuous improvement of national training programs of hockey “Red machine”.

“This is a strategic history, – said Fetisov. – Let’s see if the mentality is very important. I hope Igor will have enough experience and wisdom to prevail. The question is, we saw it at the last world Cup, when the strongest part of the Russian team did not win championship title”.

Fetisov noted that with interest will observe the work of the former partner of the USSR, CSKA and the club of NHL “Detroit”. “By itself it is an interesting fact. 58-year-old Larionov is a two-time Olympic champion and four-time world champion in the USSR team, eight-time USSR champion with CSKA, three-time winner of the Cup Stanley in structure “Detroit”.
