Kiknadze: “locomotive” decided to start a new cycle with the new coach

General Director of “Lokomotiv” Vasily Kiknadze commented on the decision of the club to part ways with head coach Yury Semin.

“The Board of Directors decided that a new cycle makes sense to sign with a new head coach, the discussion went to the bad results in the autumn. In the last two games of the Champions League the game was far from what I wanted to see. I have more questions on the home match with Bayern (0:2), in which everything was resolved, and we showed nothing.

The first discussion with Yuri Pavlovich Semin we had last year during the Champions League final. I said that we can no longer afford to take older players. We need to learn how to develop their own players, to find young players, develop them and arrange the transfer to the output. During my work I never managed to get Yuri Pavlovich to watch games of the Kazanka river,” — said Kiknadze in the broadcast channel “Russia 24”.

Also Kiknadze said that the expanded list of candidates for the post of the new head coach was 18 specialists.

“With most of them I met in person or conducted negotiations with agents. Among them were very big names, in the end they had three candidates, and Yuri Pavlovich. The Board of Directors has endorsed my candidacy Nikolic,” — said Kiknadze.

Recall that on may 14 “the locomotive” has announced that it will not renew the contract with Yury Semin. The new coach was appointed 40-year-old Serb Marko nikolić, who will assume his duties July 1.
