MOSCOW, 5 July. /Offset. TASS Andrei Kartashov/. Should respect the views of pilots “Formula 1”, who were not to kneel in protest against racial discrimination before the Austrian Grand Prix. About this TASS said the first Russian racer in “Formula-1” Vitaly Petrov.

This Tamaqua and five pilots have not bowed the knee to protest the “Formula 1” racism

Did not bend a knee to six riders. In this case, all the pilots were dressed in t-shirts with slogans calling to fight racism.

“I believe that everyone has the right to speak. And everyone can have it their way, – said Petrov. – Everyone has their own opinion: get on one knee or not. You can call to do it, but not to criticize, if someone disagreed with your position, and respect the opinions of others.”

Among those who decided not to take a knee, turned out to be Russian Daniil Kvyat, who plays for the “alpha Tauri”, the pilot “McLaren” Carlos Sainz, the pilots “Alfa Romeo” Finn Kimi Raikkonen and Italian Antonio Giovinazzi, Dutch rider Red bull Max Verstappen, as well as the pilot “Ferrari” Monegasque Charles Leclerc. Shortly before the start of the race Verstappen and LeClair in the social networks said that they support racism, but to do the knee will not.
