TASS, July 10. The Russian motorcycle racer Anastasiya Nifontova withdrew from the rally “silk road” due to injuries received in the accident on the fourth stage. About it reports a press-service of the race.
“Somewhere ten kilometers after refueling, I became fascinated with piloting and navigation paths through his own fault missed in the road book marked “Pit 3,” said 40-year-old Nifontova. In the overall standings after three stages, the Russian took the 19th place.
Nifontova became world champion in cross-country International motorcycle Federation (FIM) in 2015 and the Vice-champion of the rally-RAID “Dakar” (2017) in the women’s standings. In January 2019, she became the first racer, the last “Dakar” without technical support.
Rally “the silk way” was launched on 6 July in Irkutsk, a sport route of the race will be 3,500 kilometres, finish of the rally on July 16 in the Chinese Dunhuang. All participants will have to overcome 10 stages. For the first time in the history of the rally entered the motorcycle standings.
