HomeHockeyThe General Manager of “Washington”: “Kuznetsov should contact the team and tell them what happened”
General Manager of “Washington” Brian McLellan believes that the Russian team forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, who was disqualified by the IIHF for use of cocaine, is to regain the trust of our partners.
— He realizes that he made a horrible mistake and regrets it. He knows he made a mistake, wants to correct the situation and prepared to take responsibility for their actions. But he wants to move on. Partners are ready to support it. They also want one to listen to him. He needs to contact the team and tell them what happened. I think that such an act would be an important step in the right direction for the whole team, ‘ said McLellan.
Team forward Nicklas Backstrom and goalie Braden holtby has also supported Kuznetsov.
— It is very sad that this happened, but we’re friends, and it is important for us to support him in all situations. We must struggle together to cope with the problem. As a family, — said Beckstrom.
— It is clear that there will be consequences. But the main thing is that we want to help him to cope with the problem that it has become stronger and has strengthened the team, stressed Holtby.
