Eighty football clubs, which are in season 2019/20 will play in the main rounds of the Champions League and Europa League, last summer spent in total on transfers 3,980 billion euros, according to a report by the UEFA.
This is 55% more than in the summer of 2018. Total income from transfers for the clubs amounted to 3,720 billion euros.
In the Champions League eight clubs have spent over 50 million on transfers in the Europa League – four teams. Less than 5 million in the Champions League and spent 4 club in the Europa League – 21.
According to UEFA, 35% of transfer spending occurred in the forwards, 25% from Midfielders and 35% for defenders and 5% for goalkeepers. Most clubs bought players aged 21 to 24 years – 47%. In second place was the category of players from 25 to 28 years old (29%), the third to 21 (17%), the fourth older than 28 years (7%).
