The superhero turned out to be an ordinary fighter. The liver could not stand it, I had to give up
The first autumn Bellator tournament – Bellator 266 was held in San Jose (California, USA). In its main event ex-champion of the organization Phil Davis and former UFC belt contender, Olympic medalist Yoel Romero met. They spent all five rounds in the octagon, but there were enough bright knockouts at the event. What is the upset of the year performed by Ben Parrish, who left the promising Christian Edwards out of business.
The preliminary card also gave two knockouts. In one of the fights, 28-year-old Jonathan Adams , who, after two fights, had no career victories, and 27-year-old Edwin De Los Santos , who had the first fight as a professional (4-0 in amateurs), met . The meeting was held in the lightest weight category.
Superhero Adams made his Bellator debut back in 2019 with a draw. Then he lost by technical knockout, and now he was going to get the first victory in the promotion. His opponent pursued a similar goal, only hoping for Victoria on the first try. Moreover, it was he who was considered the favorite.
The fight began extremely cautiously, the fighters threw out a reconnaissance low-kick. The game of cat and mouse lasted one and a half minutes, in which De Los Santos looked more preferable, who flexibly changed the racks. He even tried to squeeze Adams at the net, but although he retreated, he did not allow himself to be driven into a corner.
The first significant blow, apart from low-kicks, took place at about 100 seconds of the meeting – Jonathan took over the right overhand. After that, the fighters opened up a little, but even at these moments it seemed that the athletes were of different levels. And the advantage is not on the side of Jonathan, who had a couple of Bellator fights behind him.

The difference in class showed itself one and a half minutes before the end of the first round. Jonathan was extremely passive with only a couple of counterattacks. By this time, Edwin had recaptured his opponent’s caviar, but now he shot through the liver, from which Adams fell over. The finishing move followed, which was stopped by the referee Jason Herzog. One-caliber duel. De Los Santos makes his professional debut with a victory, but his opponent is still with zero in the “won fights” column.
“Adams is the thinnest guy I’ve ever seen in MMA on a professional level,” one of the fans wrote on social networks.
The flyweight in MMA is not as quoted in any promotion, so it shouldn’t be surprising if Los Santos becomes a rated fighter in the near future. To understand his true level, you need more serious opposition, no offense to Adams, who has never won on a professional level. With the nickname, he clearly got excited. What kind of Superhero is this? If only the Invisible Man.
