The Union of European football associations (UEFA) has suspended English Manchester city from European competition for two seasons because of violations of financial fair play, according to the official website of the organization.
In addition to exclusion from European competitions, the club also fined 30 million euros. A hearing on this matter was held on January 22.
According to the results of the investigation it was revealed that Manchester city had overstated their income from sponsors in 2012-2016, which allowed to circumvent financial fair play requirements. So, in 2015/16 the Etihad team paid 81 million euros, and in fact, the sponsor has transferred to the club only 9.6 million of the Remaining amount in the club Treasury has made the companies owned by the owner of the bulls Sheikh Mansur bin Zayd al Nahyan.
Manchester city on its official website posted a statement in which he said that he will appeal the sentence in the court of arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. If the decision is not cancelled, the club will definitely play in Euro cups in the season 2020/21 and 2021/22.
