MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/. Women’s world hockey championship in 2021 will be held in Ufa. About it has informed journalists the President of Federation of hockey of Russia (FHR), a member of the Council of the International ice hockey Federation (IIHF) Vladislav Tretiak.
Previously a member of the Council of the International ice hockey Federation (IIHF), the head of the Committee of women’s hockey organization Suzanne Kolbenmoor TASS reported that the chances of Ufa make the women’s world Cup 2021 close to one hundred percent. Later, Tretiak told TASS that the IIHF will approve the tournament in Ufa in September 2019. At the end of September was held the semi-annual IIHF Congress, which was attended by Tretiak.
“The decision has been made, the world Cup in 2021, one hundred percent will be held in Ufa. We will do our best to welcoming all participants,” – said Tretiak.
Tretiak also noted that the tournament will take place on “Ufa-Arena” and Ufa sports Palace.
September 23 it became known that the World anti-doping Agency (WADA) initiated consideration of the issue of the mismatch of the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA) code of the international organizations, due to differences between the database of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory available to WADA and those received in January 2019. The history of the women’s world Championships
The first women’s world championship was held in Canada in 1990. Since 1999, the world Championships are held annually except the years of the Olympic games. At the world championship 2019 the Russians took fourth place, losing in the bronze medal match, Canada (0:7). The 2020 tournament will be held in Canada.
Russia has never held the world championship among women. In 2013, the Ufa took the world youth championship among men’s teams. In 2014 the city hosted the world Cup among youth club teams.
